About the Role

Hitachi is seeking an Associate HSE Specialist to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is designed for individuals with 0-1 year of experience, offering a foundational role in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). The specialist will contribute to the development and implementation of policies and practices aimed at identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions within both workplace and external environments.

Role Purpose and Development

This role applies broad theoretical job knowledge, typically acquired through advanced education, to practical HSE challenges. The Associate HSE Specialist will operate under close supervision, providing a structured environment for professional growth and the development of capabilities within the HSE field. The primary objective is to support the establishment and maintenance of a safe and compliant operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines that comply with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Support the implementation of safety programs and initiatives designed to prevent workplace accidents and environmental incidents.
  • Collaborate in executing and monitoring HSE initiatives across various departments, tracking progress and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Help maintain comprehensive documentation related to HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and operations to identify potential environmental and safety hazards.
  • Assist in monitoring workplace conditions to ensure compliance with established health and safety standards.
  • Support the operation, maintenance, and calibration of health, safety, and environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Participate in investigating workplace accidents and environmental incidents under supervision.
  • Document findings from investigations and assist in developing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Compile data and prepare reports related to HSE performance and incidents.
  • Support the development and delivery of HSE training materials for employees.
  • Assist in conducting safety awareness sessions and basic training programs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) related field.
  • Possession of broad theoretical job knowledge, typically obtained through advanced education.
  • Demonstrated motivation and enthusiasm for developing a career in HSE.
