About the Role

Saudi Airlines Catering Company is seeking an Asst. Manager, Central Laboratory to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is central to managing all operations within the food chemistry testing laboratory. The role involves preparing annual plans, supervising the laboratory team, and overseeing the execution of testing protocols to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis of food, pesticides, and food packaging using advanced instrumentation such as GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, and IC.
• Establish new chemical analysis methods for various food and beverage products.
• Assist in managing the overall requirements and resources of the laboratory.
• Supervise all chemical analysis activities, including verifying results and interpreting findings.
• Review all laboratory records and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare the yearly budget requirements for the Central Laboratory.
• Manage reporting, monitoring, resources, and personnel within the laboratory.
• Stay informed about the latest developments and advancements in chemical laboratories globally.
• Develop and implement training plans, identifying specific training needs for the team.
• Collaborate closely with team members to provide effective solutions that support business and quality objectives.
• Facilitate effective communication across internal departments by trending and reporting data.
• Establish and improve laboratory procedures and processes by addressing identified issues and risks.
• Utilize proven employee management solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Laboratory Quality and Compliance

• Establish and maintain a calibration program for testing equipment that impacts quality results, alongside a Proficiency Testing (** program for testing methods.
• Establish and perform a quality management system to comply with ISO17025 accreditation standards.
• Coordinate effectively with local Government Agencies such as SASO and SFDA.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant laboratory management or supervisory capacity, with a strong background in food chemistry testing and analytical methods.
