About the Role

Riyadah Solutions, a rapidly expanding technology company in the mobility and car-rental sector, is seeking a Chief Accountant to establish and manage its entire finance function. This full-time, founding role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a professional capable of building financial operations from the ground up.

The Chief Accountant will serve as the sole finance owner, reporting directly to leadership, and will be responsible for setting up accounting systems, ensuring compliance, and developing financial models to guide strategic decisions. This position is suited for an analytical, self-sufficient individual with over 10 years of experience who is prepared to own the finance function end-to-end within a developing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishing and managing the complete accounting function, hands-on, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Ensuring full Saudi compliance, encompassing ZATCA (VAT, e-invoicing/Fatoorah, Zakat, and corporate tax), GOSI, and WPS payroll, including personal filing and management on government portals.
• Developing financial models, budgeting, forecasting, and tracking burn-rate to provide strategic business insights.
• Managing cash flow and preparing reports to maintain financial runway control.
• Preparing investor and board reports, and ensuring financial records are ready for due diligence.
• Implementing financial controls, policies, and selecting/setting up the accounting/ERP system, including e-invoicing.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an individual who possesses the knowledge, expertise, and ability to build and manage the finance function independently. The ideal candidate is sharp, self-sufficient, and analytical, with a strong desire to own the finance function end-to-end within a company that is still in its foundational stages.

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on accounting experience, with a comprehensive command of accrual accounting and IFRS as adopted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Deep, practical command of Saudi tax and compliance regulations, including ZATCA VAT and e-invoicing, Zakat, corporate tax, GOSI, and WPS, with proven ability to manage these personally via government portals.
• Genuine financial modeling ability, strong proficiency in Excel, and comfort in building models, running scenarios, and reasoning about financial numbers.
• A commercial, analytical mindset, curious about the why behind financial figures, and keen to help steer the business.
• Self-sufficient and organized, comfortable owning the entire finance function alone in a founding-team environment.

Additional Qualifications

• Professional qualification (SOCPA / CPA / ACCA / CMA) is preferred, though strong practical ability is prioritized.
• Experience in a startup or high-growth company, demonstrating understanding of cash burn, runway, and investor reporting.
• Experience supporting a fundraise or financial due diligence processes.
• Familiarity with SaaS, marketplace, or subscription revenue recognition principles.
