About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant- Gastroenterology to provide specialized care within the ICC physical clinic in Riyadh. This part-time, in-person role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of digestive system disorders, including acute and chronic gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreaticobiliary conditions. The consultant will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care during scheduled in-clinic sessions, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate diagnostic work-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive in-person gastroenterology care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical examination, and review of laboratory, endoscopic, and imaging findings.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, including medication, dietary interventions, and referrals.
  • Manage complex gastroenterology conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR to support seamless handover and continuity of care.
  • Promote digestive health through preventive screening, chronic disease management, and population health principles.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate medical documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based gastroenterology practice and in-clinic regulations through continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

  • Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in gastroenterology and best practices.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system and participate in ongoing training for system enhancements.

Patient Safety and Collaboration

  • Uphold the highest standards of patient safety by adhering to established clinical safety protocols.
  • Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks and incidents in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication and shared decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and continuous patient care.
  • Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in gastroenterology. This part-time position requires an in-person presence at the clinic in Riyadh.
