About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Orthopaedics, Upper Limb to provide specialized upper limb orthopedic care within the ICC physical clinic in Riyadh. This is a part-time, in-person position focused on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions. The role requires 2-5 years of experience and emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive in-person upper limb orthopedic care during scheduled part-time clinic sessions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
  • Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical examination, and review of imaging findings.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, covering non-operative management, pre-operative work-up, and referrals.
  • Manage common upper limb orthopedic conditions such as fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, degenerative joint disease, and nerve entrapment syndromes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physiotherapy, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support continuity of care.
  • Promote musculoskeletal health through preventive counseling and value-based care principles.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation.
  • Contribute to clinical governance through participation in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programs.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

  • Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in upper limb orthopedics and best practices through professional development activities.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) to stay current with evidence-based practices.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system for efficient and well-documented consultations.
  • Participate in ongoing training for system enhancements and best practices, collaborating with support teams.

Patient Safety and Collaboration

  • Uphold high standards of patient safety by adhering to established clinical safety protocols and delivering evidence-based care.
  • Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks and quality concerns in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication, empathy, and shared decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care and optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making and integrated care planning.

Experience and Work Type

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in orthopaedics, specifically within upper limb care. This is a part-time position based in Riyadh, requiring in-person attendance at the ICC physical clinic. Salary information will be disclosed during the recruitment process.
