About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Engineer/Technician to join the Infrastructure Operations team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to AWS Infrastructure Services, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to innovation for customers.

Role Purpose and Context

As a Data Center Engineer/Technician, you will be a primary resolver for a range of datacenter infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems. You will be part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, overseeing the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and hardware within AWS Cloud regions. This position involves working on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, while collaborating across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security, and providing infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose hardware and network problems, followed by performing physical repairs.
• Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures to prevent recurrence.
• Serve as the primary resolver for your support team, developing troubleshooting skills across various hardware and software cases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve most infrastructure issues independently, escalating complex problems to other solutions groups as needed.

Safety and Operational Standards

• Adhere to and maintain the highest safety standards, actively promoting a world-class safety culture within the datacenter environment.
• Take ownership of safety initiatives and projects to further strengthen the safety culture.
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required, in strict accordance with established regulations and safety protocols.

Team and Work Environment

You will join a diverse team comprising software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. This role involves close collaboration across various AWS teams to uphold the highest standards for safety and security, contributing to the provision of scalable capacity for customers.
