About Qiddiya and the Director Design Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is developing world-class entertainment and leisure destinations across Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a Director Design to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the design philosophy and overseeing the design direction for all development projects within the company's portfolio.

Role Purpose and Strategic Focus

The Director Design is responsible for ensuring that all projects are both innovative and aligned with Qiddiya's overarching vision of excellence. This involves leading strategic design initiatives and maintaining high standards throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to completion. The role requires a leader who can integrate global design trends with practical implementation to achieve groundbreaking results.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement design strategies that align with Qiddiya's goals and vision.
• Lead and inspire a diverse team of designers and architects, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
• Oversee the design development processes from initial concept through to project completion.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design solutions are practical, innovative, and reflect community engagement.
• Review and approve design proposals, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Stay informed of global design trends and best practices, integrating these insights into project initiatives.
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively, ensuring deliverables are met within expected parameters.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, presenting design concepts and incorporating their feedback into the design process.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in design leadership roles, preferably within the real estate or entertainment sectors.
• A proven track record of successfully delivering high-impact design projects on time and within budget.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage creative teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, with expertise in presenting complex design solutions to various audiences.
• Ability to think critically and creatively, with a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices is highly advantageous.
