Director of Sports Medicine Development and Activation

About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Director of Sports Medicine Development and Activation to provide strategic leadership for the development of QHC’s sports medicine portfolio. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province, and involves shaping the service model and operating concept across clinical care, rehabilitation, athlete health, performance, research, and innovation. The role ensures the program aligns with QHC’s mandate, clinical standards, and long-term strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of QHC’s sports medicine strategy and translate it into an integrated portfolio of services, including clinical, rehabilitation, athlete-health, performance, research, and innovation.
• Define and maintain the sports medicine service model and operating concept, encompassing portfolio scope, target populations, service pathways, and governance principles.
• Oversee the development and refinement of the sports medicine program, converting strategy into approved service specifications, business priorities, and implementation plans.
• Lead the development of an integrated clinical, rehabilitation, athlete-health, and performance service portfolio, defining service scope, referral criteria, and standards of care.
• Provide strategic oversight of multidisciplinary service and pathway design, integrating various specialist disciplines to deliver coordinated, evidence-based, and athlete-centred care.
• Establish the governance structure for the sports medicine program, defining workstreams, accountable owners, decision rights, and reporting requirements.
• Manage the integrated program plan and executive dashboard, coordinating scope, budgets, resources, schedules, and implementation priorities.
• Define clinical, operational, facility, workforce, technology, and mobilisation requirements for sports medicine partners.
• Develop and validate technical and service requirements for scopes of work, requests for proposal, and evaluation criteria.
• Own the sports medicine design file from concept through detailed design and operational sign-off, ensuring accurate reflection of clinical briefs and functional programs.
• Define and coordinate clinical, rehabilitation, performance, digital, and equipment requirements to enable the approved service model.
• Own workforce planning and mobilisation requirements, including organisational structure, staffing, recruitment, and training.
• Direct the phased implementation and mobilisation of the sports medicine program, translating designs into activation schedules and resource plans.
• Establish service-activation criteria and oversee multidisciplinary assurance activities, including document reviews and simulations.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in sports medicine development and activation.
• Demonstrated leadership in shaping service models and operating concepts within clinical care, rehabilitation, athlete health, performance, research, and innovation.
• Proven ability to lead coordinated program development from concept through implementation, including service and facility design, strategic partnerships, and workforce planning.
• Experience working across executive, clinical, and corporate leadership to establish priorities and integrate multidisciplinary workstreams.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Qiddiya Investment Company. The role requires collaboration with executive, clinical, and corporate leadership, as well as external partners.
