Role Overview

The Director, Technology Development will lead the translation of Ma'aden’s technology ambitions into measurable business value. This role involves providing enterprise leadership across various technology domains, aligning business priorities with specialist expertise, and directing investment and execution towards opportunities that enhance safety, productivity, reliability, growth, and operational performance. The position is full-time and based in Riyadh, requiring over 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape and execute an integrated Technology Development portfolio, translating enterprise priorities into focused domain strategies, roadmaps, and investments.
• Prioritize opportunities based on business value, strategic relevance, deployment readiness, safety, risk, and scalability, balancing short-term performance with long-term capability.
• Direct the progression of priority technologies from discovery and validation through deployment, adoption, and scale, ensuring clear outcomes and ownership.
• Establish measurable value hypotheses, baselines, and performance measures that link technology deployment to operational and business outcomes.
• Implement a disciplined portfolio operating model covering investment decisions, stage gates, resource allocation, risk, technical assurance, and executive performance reviews.
• Lead and develop Chief Specialists and senior subject matter experts, aligning domain priorities and performance to enterprise outcomes.
• Align business units, Operations, Engineering, Technology & Innovation, and corporate stakeholders on technology priorities and investment choices.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in technology development and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to provide enterprise leadership across diverse technology portfolios.
• Experience in connecting business priorities with specialist expertise and directing investment.
• Proven track record in creating conditions for technologies to move from discovery to scaled operational deployment.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh. The role involves working within a dynamic environment focused on strengthening Ma'aden’s ability to deploy technology at scale and building specialist capabilities for future growth and operational excellence.
