DPI Back Office Specialist

About the Role

Tangent International is seeking a DPI Back Office Specialist for a 12-month extendable contract. This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with an immediate start. The role focuses on the operational management and maintenance of Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) platforms within a telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot dedicated Deep Packet Inspection platforms.
• Monitor DPI Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and investigate instances of service or performance degradation.
• Perform root-cause analysis utilizing tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, flow logs, and session traces.
• Manage application classification, protocol identification, and traffic-policy functions.
• Coordinate vendor Technical Assistance Center (TAC) cases, technical escalations, and service-recovery activities.
• Automate health checks, configuration management, log analysis, and alerting processes.
• Support emergency rule bypass, traffic rerouting, and graceful platform failover procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of hands-on operational experience with dedicated DPI platforms, including but not limited to Procera, Sandvine, Huawei DPI, or Wirefilter. Direct operational experience with a dedicated DPI platform is essential; general Packet Core or GGSN experience alone will not meet this requirement.
• Strong understanding of DPI principles and application-detection methods.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP with practical experience using Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Experience in Linux server administration and network-operations automation.
• Good understanding of mobile network architecture, encompassing 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and Packet Core.
• Experience troubleshooting multivendor technology within a live telecom environment.
