About the Role

alfanar is seeking an experienced ENGINEER, SUPPLIER QUALITY to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to ensuring the quality of sourced components and assemblies for MV switchgear products. The role focuses on managing supplier quality activities, compliance verification, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineer, Supplier Quality will be responsible for a range of critical functions aimed at maintaining and improving supplier quality performance. This includes:

• Developing and managing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for essential components and assemblies, ensuring supplier compliance with specifications.
• Verifying that parts and processes meet customer requirements and relevant IEC standards, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
• Monitoring and reducing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Parts Per Million (PPM) levels through structured problem-solving and preventive actions, including conducting weekly supplier review meetings.
• Performing supplier audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and driving continuous improvement initiatives using quality tools.
• Preparing comprehensive reports and dashboards for management reviews and ensuring readiness for customer and third-party audits.
• Managing new product development quality aspects within the MV business line and ensuring timely closure of DFMEA and PFMEA action plans.

Supplier Quality Management

This role involves the direct management of supplier quality through various processes. Key activities include:

• Applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and PPAP processes for electrical components and assemblies.
• Reviewing and validating supplier Control Plans, Material Verification, and Process Capability studies.
• Ensuring the proper implementation of the 8D methodology for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Tracking and monitoring corrective and preventive actions for all supplier-related issues.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

A core aspect of this position is driving improvements and ensuring adherence to standards. This includes:

• Utilizing the 7 QC tools for data analysis and quality improvement activities.
• Coordinating well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and identifying automation opportunities.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.
• Maintaining accurate supplier quality records, audit findings, and performance updates.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Experience: 4 to 6 Years of relevant experience.
• Skills: Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
• Problem-Solving: Capability to solve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
• Reporting: Proficiency in preparing reports and presentations using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Travel: Willingness to travel locally and internationally for supplier visits and quality improvement projects.

Work Environment and Delivery

This role operates within a full-time capacity in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be expected to perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters. Periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks are required.
