Executive Housekeeper

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to manage daily shift operations for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry services in Riyadh. This full-time role involves directing staff to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are consistently clean and well-maintained. The Executive Housekeeper will conduct inspections, ensure corrective actions are taken, and contribute to guest and employee satisfaction while managing within the operating budget. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Housekeeping Operations Management

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.

• Ensure timely communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department on guestroom maintenance needs.
• Supervise the property's general cleaning schedule.
• Prepare work assignments based on room cleaning lists and prospective check-outs.
• Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies are available.
• Supervise daily Housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assist in ordering guestroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
• Support and supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
• Communicate areas requiring attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding.
• Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.

Financial Management and Cost Control

The Executive Housekeeper will contribute to the financial health of the department by managing controllable expenses.

• Participate in managing departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Understand the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial goals and objectives.
• Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports for financial management.

Ensuring Guest Satisfaction

A key aspect of this role is to ensure exceptional service delivery and address guest concerns effectively.

• Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints.
• Strive to continuously improve service performance.
• Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service.
• Emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement initiatives.

Human Resources Activities

The role involves various human resources functions to support the housekeeping team.

• Participate in the investigation of employee accidents as needed.
• Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Ensure employees understand expectations and operational parameters.
• Administer property policies fairly and consistently, ensuring disciplinary procedures and documentation comply with SOPs and LSOPs.
• Observe employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback.
• Utilize available on-the-job training tools for new room attendants and provide follow-up training.
• Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, offering feedback as required.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring employee team members with appropriate skills.
• Support a departmental orientation program for new hires to ensure proper training.
• Participate in employee progressive discipline procedures.
