Governance & Strategy Expert

About the Role

Emdad By Elm is seeking a Governance & Strategy Expert to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading and supporting governance and strategic planning activities, developing frameworks, policies, and organizational models to enhance decision-making and clarify roles and responsibilities. The expert will also conduct strategic studies, monitor initiatives and KPIs, and provide recommendations to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review governance and strategy frameworks and models, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Contribute to the enhancement of corporate strategy, translating strategic directions into measurable objectives.
• Develop and review policies, procedures, authority matrices, roles, and responsibilities to improve accountability and decision-making.
• Conduct strategic studies and analyses, identifying gaps, opportunities, and challenges, and providing recommendations.
• Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, assess progress, and escalate challenges to relevant leadership.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Support senior management, executive committees, and boards by preparing studies, recommendations, and decision-making materials.
• Prepare executive reports, presentations, and analytical studies for leadership and stakeholders.
• Analyze strategic matters and decisions, providing data-driven recommendations based on best practices.
• Review organizational structures, operating models, and decision-making mechanisms, recommending improvements for efficiency and governance.
• Conduct benchmarking and assess leading local and international practices in governance and strategy.
• Coordinate with departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment of plans with the overall organizational strategy.
• Identify and assess risks associated with strategic initiatives and recommend mitigation measures.
• Provide advisory support to executive leadership on governance, strategy, corporate performance, and organizational development.
• Follow up on strategic decisions and recommendations, ensuring translation into action plans and monitoring implementation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in governance and strategy roles.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement governance frameworks and strategic plans.
• Strong analytical skills for conducting strategic studies and performance monitoring.
• Experience in preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for executive leadership.
