HVAC Technician

About the Role

Carrier (KSA) is seeking a skilled and customer-focused HVAC Technician to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of HVAC equipment. The successful candidate will ensure all work adheres to industry practices, manufacturer guidelines, company standards, and EH&S requirements, bringing 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC service, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities according to standard procedures.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in air-conditioning units and recommend corrective actions.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Repair, replace, adjust, and maintain defective or damaged HVAC components and parts.
• Adjust and maintain electrical and electronic control systems, including motors, belts, blowers, and coils.
• Prepare inspection reports detailing site conditions, scope of work, findings, and technical recommendations.
• Complete all required documentation, including Job Completion Certificates, Job Cards, and EH&S site surveys.
• Estimate labor hours, tools, equipment, and materials for assigned tasks.
• Communicate work progress, outstanding issues, and recommendations to customers.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and orderly upon completion.
• Identify safety hazards and implement appropriate controls.
• Safely rig and set up gantries and lifting arrangements for HVAC and other heavy equipment.
• Manage machinery, tools, equipment pickup/delivery, usage, and inventory.
• Utilize computers, mobile devices, and relevant applications for work activities and reporting.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and work independently when required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-oriented with a strong team-player attitude.
• Basic computer and mobile application skills.
• A valid Saudi driving license is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should possess knowledge of:

• HVAC equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in line with industry practices and manufacturer guidelines.
• EH&S practices and procedures relevant to HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance, including MSDS/SDS and safe handling.
• Proper utilization, care, and management of tools and equipment.
• Preparation and completion of inspection and technical reports.
• Quality management practices according to company standards.
• Basic metal sheet work, electrical systems, carpentry, and Building Automation Controls.
• Identification and management of risks and hazards associated with HVAC operations.
• Minimum product knowledge of DX & Airside Equipment and Scroll Chillers.

The HVAC Technician is expected to maintain a strong safety-first approach in all work activities. This includes identifying potential risks and hazards before commencing work and implementing appropriate controls. Compliance with all company EH&S, quality, and operational procedures, as well as manufacturer recommendations and industry standards, is essential. The role requires maintaining accurate service, inspection, and maintenance documentation, and delivering professional workmanship with high-quality customer service.
