About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an Instrumentation Lead Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires an individual capable of reviewing and executing engineering activities related to instrumentation and automation for Solar PV Power Plants. The role involves leading a team of design engineers and draughts persons to ensure timely delivery of engineering activities within budget and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents, aligning with project schedules.
  • Review drawings by design engineers and draughts persons, including checking design and sizing calculations for engineering electrical equipment and obtaining client approvals.
  • Review vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deliver on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements for projects.
  • Review Bills of Quantity (BOQ), submit to the contracts team, and provide technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks are completed.
  • Provide support and clarifications to the site execution team.
  • Conduct pre-award evaluation of vendors based on client technical specifications and forward validation documents to Supply Chain Management.
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after submission of validation documents.
  • Clarify design and client requirements to the site execution team.
  • Collect project details from clients and Project Engineering Managers.
  • Coordinate with the operations team and provide design specifications for approval.
  • Collect inputs for project details, including General Arrangement Drawings, from vendors.

Role Context and Scope

The Instrumentation Lead Engineer will facilitate modellers in the development of BIM 3D models for PV Solar Power Plants. This role also involves coordinating with other departments, including Civil/Structural, Electrical, and MEP, for inter-departmental checks. Support for engineering activities will cover the full project cycle, from pre-bid engineering to commissioning and warranty periods, extending to site team support.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating a strong background in instrumentation and automation for power plants, particularly Solar PV.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires leadership capabilities to manage a team of design engineers and draughts persons effectively.
