About the Role: Inventory Planner

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced Inventory Planner to join the team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for supporting the SPM Oil & Gas parts business by ensuring optimal inventory availability, minimizing stock shortages, and enhancing overall inventory control to drive revenue and customer satisfaction. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory planning, forecasting, demand management, stock optimization, and ERP-driven inventory control across various customer and operational sites. This role involves close collaboration with sales, operations, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
• Monitor, analyze, and maintain inventory accuracy using ERP systems.
• Support parts sales activities by ensuring timely availability of critical SPM Oil & Gas components.
• Develop and maintain forecasting and demand planning models to support business requirements.
• Identify stock shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Generate inventory reports and provide recommendations to improve stock control and inventory performance.
• Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, warehousing, and operations teams to ensure efficient inventory replenishment.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and drive root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with internal inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Communicate inventory status, risks, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Travel to multiple customer and operational sites as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in inventory planning or a related field.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain forecasting and demand planning models.
• Experience in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and supply risks.
• Strong analytical skills for generating inventory reports and providing recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and supply chain.

Work Environment

This is an office-based position, requiring attendance 5 days a week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division, which has a diverse global portfolio.
