The Opportunity: Junior Structural Design Review Engineer "Civil"

SGS is seeking a Junior Structural Design Review Engineer "Civil" to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is open to Saudi nationals with 0-1 years of experience in structural engineering, offering an opportunity to develop expertise in design review processes under senior supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing structural calculations, drawings, and design models under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Support the Design Review Team in preparing technical reports and deliverables.
• Assist in checking structural designs for compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and project discussions.
• Support site visits, technical assessments, and inspections as required.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and material submittals for structural works.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and site teams to collect technical information.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity take-offs.
• Support the resolution of technical issues identified during design review and project execution.
• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager related to projects and departmental requirements.
• Maintain project documentation and engineering records.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and stay updated with structural engineering practices and software tools.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• Basic knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, or similar software is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) is an advantage.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or eligibility for registration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a professional engineering environment.

Additional Information

This role is exclusively open to Saudi nationals. The workweek is Saturday to Thursday. Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately.
