About Sabil and the Laboratory Analyst Role

Sabil | سابل is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join its Branch Quality Assurance Department. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is available across 8 locations within the Kingdom. The Laboratory Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of grain samples through meticulous collection, analysis, and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities: Sample Collection and Handling

• Ensure random and representative sampling by extracting samples from different batches and stages, such as upon arrival of shipment, during storage, and upon dispatch.
• Collect samples from various locations within containers and different points (*, combine to truck, truck to bin) to obtain representative samples from moving grain streams.
• Handle grain samples carefully to maintain their integrity, ensuring accurate analysis.

Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Testing and Data Analysis

• Conduct grain-specific tests using approved samples, following established SABIL protocols and procedures to maintain consistency.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and related grain sample collection analysis tools.
• Perform grain laboratory tests and analyze data, comparing results against SABIL quality standards and historical data.
• Ensure grain analysis is conducted both pre- and post-evaporation to identify quality issues and implement corrective measures.
• Analyze stored grains to ensure quality is maintained throughout storage, aligning with SABIL requirements and specifications.
• Support and comply with all grain safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Documentation, Quality Control, and Safety

• Document and archive lab analysis operations to provide insights, support quality control, and serve as future reference.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure continuous silo cleaning, preventing contamination, pests, and dust, in alignment with SABIL regulations.
• Document all lab operations, particularly those related to chemical handling, including details of experiments, tests, and analyses performed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for chemical handling, including maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper lab ventilation, following SABIL procedures.
• Ensure safe handling, use, storage, and disposal of chemicals, understanding their properties, hazards, and proper procedures prior to conducting analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Fresh graduate or up to 3 years of experience.
• Preferred: Experience in the agriculture or food industry is highly preferred.
