About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Lead Field Engineer Civil to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing contractors' civil works for the Expo 2030 Riyadh infrastructure program, ensuring compliance with project standards and schedules. The Lead Field Engineer Civil will report to the Project Manager and lead a team of discipline-based Field Engineers.

Project Overview: Expo 2030 Riyadh

Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global event themed "Foresight for Tomorrow," promoting sustainable development and innovation. Scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031, the Expo anticipates over 40 million visits. Bechtel, in collaboration with Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), will manage the infrastructure program for the 6 km2 Masterplan. This includes early works, utilities, and public spaces, with a transition into a mixed-use legacy development post-event. The project emphasizes international sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.

Key Responsibilities

Provide discipline-based technical oversight and ensure contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, schedule, ES&H plans, quality standards, and regulatory safety codes.
Coordinate across disciplines and with Engineering to deliver timely and accurate information to Construction teams.
Monitor the performance of installation contractors within the civil discipline, including project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
Lead site-based technical coordination with contractors, engineers, the client, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to ensuring continuous construction work fronts by reviewing look-ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules, and contractor submittals.
Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are in place and verify compliance with their requirements before work commences.
Lead a team of Field Engineers responsible for reviewing and approving contractor submittals, technical queries, field change documents, drawings, and as-builts.
Verify that all on-site materials and equipment comply with international standards and technical specifications.
Ensure the systematic and complete closure of the project in all respects.
Maintain effective relationships with other functional departments and coordinate all jobsite contractual activities.
Provide guidance and technical advice to Construction Engineers and contractors, monitoring their performance.
Coordinate and monitor interfaces with other contractors and lead review meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil field engineering or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in overseeing contractors' works, particularly for access roads, earthworks, and structures.
Proven ability to lead a team of discipline-based Field Engineers.
Strong understanding of ES&H, quality, and schedule requirements in construction operations.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on the Expo 2030 Riyadh infrastructure program. The role requires active engagement with contractors, engineering teams, the client, and other stakeholders on-site.
