Lead Field Engineer Electrical

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Lead Field Engineer Electrical to provide oversight and manage field engineering activities for electrical systems installation projects. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a comprehensive understanding of construction engineering practices. The successful candidate will direct less experienced multidisciplinary field engineers and technical personnel.

Project Context: Expo 2030 Riyadh

This role supports the Expo 2030 Riyadh project, a global platform for collaboration under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow,” promoting sustainable development and innovation. Bechtel will manage the infrastructure program for the 6 km2 Masterplan, which includes early works, utilities, and publicly accessible spaces. The project will transition into a mixed-use legacy development after the event, leveraging international sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the construction quality program, including audits, FAT procedures, and site inspections for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, and codes.
• Provide technical oversight for contractors, ensuring work aligns with drawings, specifications, standards, schedule, ES&H plans, quality standards, and regulatory safety codes.
• Coordinate across disciplines and with Engineering to deliver timely and accurate information to construction teams.
• Monitor the performance of installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
• Lead site-based technical coordination with contractors, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure continuous construction work front availability by reviewing look-ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, and material delivery schedules.
• Verify that all required permits and licenses are in place and that work complies with their stipulations.
• Manage a team of Field Engineers responsible for reviewing and approving contractor submittals, technical queries, field change documents, drawings, and as-builts.
• Ensure all site materials and equipment comply with international standards and technical specifications.
• Oversee the systematic and complete closure of the project.
• Maintain effective relationships with other functional departments and coordinate all jobsite contractual activities.
• Provide guidance and technical advice to Construction Engineers and contractors, monitoring their performance.
• Coordinate and monitor interfaces with other contractors and lead review meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Full working knowledge of construction engineering practices.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results.
