About Qiddiya and the Manager Design Governance Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Manager Design Governance to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is a senior role within the Design Excellence (DEx) department, operating under the CDU. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust design governance frameworks across all Qiddiya projects, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance. This role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Design Governance Function and Objectives

The Design Governance vertical within the Design Excellence (DEx) department serves as the custodian of design principles for Qiddiya. This function is critical for ensuring that all designs align with Qiddiya's strategic objectives and unique identity. The Manager will collaborate with various cross-functional teams and business units to monitor and enforce adherence to established governance processes, contributing directly to the overall design integrity and project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Qiddiya-wide processes for reviewing and monitoring project adherence to Board-approved CGIs and imagery, including concept and interior designs.
• Create, update, and maintain a centralized repository of dated Board-approved CGIs for reference and compliance tracking.
• Conduct systematic audits and coordinate with Design Excellence teams across business units to ensure compliance with approved designs and identify discrepancies.
• Collaborate with design, project management, and other governance teams to embed design standards and resolve compliance issues.
• Prepare reports on compliance status, audit findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement in design governance.
• Define clear workflows for design governance reviews, approvals, and escalation procedures.
• Coordinate with Design Excellence teams across business units to identify discrepancies and enforce corrective actions.
• Develop compliance dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility.
• Utilize advanced digital tools, such as Excel and Power BI, to analyze datasets and create visual dashboards that support informed, data-driven decision-making.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in project coordination, document preparation, and analytical tasks, contributing to the professional development of the team.

Driving Design Compliance and Standards

A primary focus of this role is to ensure rigorous adherence to established design standards and Board-approved guidelines. This involves not only the development of robust processes but also their active implementation and continuous monitoring across all project phases. The Manager will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving compliance issues, thereby upholding the quality and consistency of design outputs throughout Qiddiya's portfolio.

Reporting and Continuous Process Improvement

The Manager Design Governance is responsible for generating comprehensive reports on compliance status and audit findings, providing actionable recommendations for enhancing design governance practices. This includes leveraging digital tools for data analysis and dashboard creation to offer clear visibility to leadership. Furthermore, the role involves actively feeding back encountered adoption issues to other Design Excellence verticals to drive ongoing improvements in departmental practices.

Collaboration and Team Development

Success in this role requires strong collaboration with various internal stakeholders, including design, project management, and other governance teams. The Manager will coordinate efforts across business units to ensure a unified approach to design governance.
