The Mechanical Engineer Role

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems and equipment utilized in industrial operations. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, supports both day-to-day operational needs and long-term project activities. The primary objective is to ensure equipment reliability, optimal performance, and strict compliance with all relevant safety and engineering standards, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Core Design and Maintenance Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems and components for plant equipment, utilities, and processes.
• Develop and review equipment specifications, drawings, P&IDs, Bills of Material (BOMs), and datasheets.
• Plan and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of new mechanical systems or modifications.

Operational Support and Performance Analysis

• Support day-to-day troubleshooting of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, gearboxes, and piping systems.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and condition monitoring tools.
• Participate in shutdown and turnaround planning, execution, and post-analysis activities.

Collaboration and Standards Compliance

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, instrumentation, production, and safety departments.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and all relevant engineering standards.
• Evaluate and select vendors or contractors for mechanical projects and services.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and maintain accurate equipment history records.

Contribution to Continuous Improvement

This role is integral to the ongoing enhancement of industrial operations. The Mechanical Engineer actively contributes to the planning and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, as well as leading root cause analysis efforts. These contributions are key to driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the long-term efficiency and sustainability of mechanical systems within Riyadh Cables Group.
