About the Opportunity

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Employee Housing to oversee the operations of staff dormitories in Riyadh. This full-time role is critical for maintaining a safe, clean, and well-managed living environment for our employees. The Manager will report directly to the Director of Human Resources, ensuring alignment with overall HR strategies and employee welfare standards.

Dormitory Operations and Maintenance

The Manager of Employee Housing is responsible for the comprehensive operational management of staff dormitories, ensuring adherence to company policies and high standards of living. Key duties include:

• Assigning rooms to staff based on Dormitory Enrollment Requests and managing check-in/check-out processes, including issuing linen and keys.
• Conducting daily inspections of dormitory public areas and staff rooms to ensure cleanliness and promptly addressing any issues.
• Scheduling regular dormitory cleanliness inspections and liaising with contractors for pest control services.
• Liaising with contractors to conduct regular checks on fire equipment and room electrical facilities, maintaining accurate records per policy.
• Maintaining appropriate inventory levels for dormitory store items, such as chemicals and garbage bags, and managing inventory for all dormitory assets.
• Assisting the Director of Human Resources with the Linen Purchase/Replacement Plan and coordinating weekly linen changes with Laundry.

Policy Implementation and Safety

This role involves the diligent implementation of dormitory policies and ensuring a secure environment for all residents.

• Implementing and enforcing Dormitory Rules and Regulations, as well as the Dormitory Visitor Policy.
• Reporting special disciplinary issues to the Director of Human Resources and providing necessary education to employees.
• Working collaboratively with the hotel Loss Prevention Director to organize and conduct regular dormitory Fire Drills.
• Maintaining knowledge of dormitory contract terms and reporting/following up on any deviations.

Employee Relations and Support

A significant aspect of this position involves fostering a positive living environment and addressing employee concerns effectively.

• Soliciting employee feedback through an "open door" policy and bringing issues concerning employee satisfaction to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources.
• Participating in employee progressive discipline procedures as required.

Administrative and Communication

The role requires meticulous record-keeping and effective communication to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

• Completing the dormitory staff duty roster per the required schedule and submitting it for approval.
• Maintaining records of dormitory issues, including maintenance requests, special staff requests, and check-in/check-out details.
• Updating the rooming list weekly and submitting it to Human Resources.
• Maintaining room key copies in accordance with established policies.
• Providing timely information and updates to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various communication channels.
• Analyzing information and evaluating results to identify optimal solutions and resolve problems efficiently.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a professional with a strong background in facility or housing management, coupled with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in employee housing, facility management, or a similar operational role.
• Demonstrated ability to implement policies, manage operations, and ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.
