Product Design Lead at FlyAkeed

FlyAkeed is seeking an experienced Product Design Lead to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves defining and executing the design vision and strategy across the company's products, combining hands-on design with leadership responsibilities.

Established in 2017 and headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, FlyAkeed operates as an innovative online platform dedicated to transforming the travel booking experience. The company focuses on enabling seamless flight and hotel reservations, aiming to simplify work-related travel planning for both businesses and individuals. FlyAkeed is currently in its Series A funding stage and is supported by investors including PIF subsidiary Sanabil Investments, Elm, Artal Capital, and Alrajhi Partners.

Role Overview

The Product Design Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end product design, mentoring design team members, and establishing scalable design systems. This position requires close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to deliver user experiences that meet high standards. The role combines hands-on product design work with leadership responsibilities, focusing on driving both product quality and design excellence within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the overall product design strategy aligned with business goals.
Lead end-to-end product design from discovery and research to high-fidelity UI and production handoff.
Mentor and support designers through coaching, feedback, and career development.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to shape product direction.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and translate insights into impactful product decisions.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished user interfaces.
Build, maintain, and evolve a scalable design system.
Ensure consistency, accessibility, and usability across all products.
Facilitate design critiques, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration.
Champion user-centered design and data-informed decision making.
Leverage modern AI tools and workflows to accelerate design, validation, and implementation.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess between 5 to 10 years of experience in product design, with a demonstrated background in leadership and strategic design initiatives.
