About the Role

Quess IT Solutions is seeking a QA Automation Test Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing the end-to-end testing process for banking applications, covering both mobile and service layers. The position requires expertise from test planning and manual execution through to automation development, with an experience range of 5-10 years.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements and clarify acceptance criteria for testing.
Prepare comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and detailed test cases.
Execute functional, regression, smoke, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles.
Log and prioritize defects in Jira, managing the defect lifecycle to closure.
Maintain traceable test cases using tools like Zephyr Scale and report execution results.
Conduct tests across various devices and OS versions utilizing real-device platforms and cloud device farms.
Participate actively in Agile processes, including refinement, planning, and retrospectives.
Collaborate closely with the development team throughout the testing lifecycle.

Test Automation Duties

Develop and maintain API automation suites.
Build service tests using Postman/Newman and integrate collections into the automation framework.
Develop Android/iOS mobile automation scenarios using Appium.
Integrate regression and smoke suites into the CI/CD pipeline.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 6+ years of experience in software testing.
Hands-on experience with Jira for defect and task tracking.
Proficiency with test management tools such as Zephyr Scale, Xray, or TestRail.
Experience executing tests on BrowserStack or similar device farm platforms.
Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks in Java.
Practical API automation experience.
Working knowledge of Postman for service testing and collection management.
Proven Appium mobile automation experience.
Experience with TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and Git.
Solid understanding of REST/JSON, HTTP, and token-based authentication.
Experience integrating tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Basic SQL knowledge for data validation.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Technical Environment

The role involves working with a range of technologies and tools, including Java, Appium, TestNG/JUnit for automation; Postman, Newman, REST/JSON, HTTP for API testing; Jira, Zephyr Scale, Xray, TestRail for test management; BrowserStack / Cloud Device Farms for device testing; Maven/Gradle, Git for build and version control; Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps for CI/CD; and SQL for database interactions. Frameworks utilized include Page Object Model and BDD/Cucumber.
