About the Role
QNB is seeking a Senior Associate – Global Transaction Banking Sales (Cash and Trade) to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is designated for Saudization and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role is primarily focused on business development and marketing the bank's existing product base within Global Transaction Banking.
Role Overview and Objectives
The Senior Associate will identify Cash Management and Trade Finance opportunities by understanding client business models, including their operational and financial processes, working capital, and treasury management needs. This involves providing customer-centric banking solutions and services across all payments, collections, liquidity management, and traditional and Open Account trade products. The role is critical in contributing to the GTB department's objectives of growing the customer base, increasing revenue, and transaction volumes, while ensuring compliance with QNB Group policies, regulatory requirements, and best market practices. Performance will be measured against annual revenue targets and other quantitative and qualitative KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute in-country sales plans for transaction solutions to contribute to department revenue and profitability for Cash Management and Trade Finance.
- Achieve set targets in alignment with Global Corporate and Institutional Banking strategic directions and policy guidelines.
- Collaborate with the country corporate management team to meet unit budgets and implement group-approved business plans, including direct P/L ownership for transaction fees, Trade assets, and CASA balances.
- Promote cost consciousness, efficiency, and productivity to optimize bank benefits.
- Collect market information on competitor actions, customer preferences, and market/business development.
- Formulate and proactively implement sales and marketing strategies for Cash Management and Trade Finance business.
- Conduct client and market data analysis to enhance GTB offerings and increase market share.
- Work closely with in-country Relationship Managers (RMs) to identify and close cash management and trade finance opportunities.
- Monitor sales activity results and provide feedback for plan reviews.
- Interact regularly with customers and market participants to gather feedback on GTB products and services.
- Contribute to developing new GTB solutions that complement Global Corporate and Institutional banking business growth.
- Assist customers with queries on bank products and seek solutions to their requests.
- Collaborate with the group GTB team to develop in-country product solutions meeting corporate client and market requirements.
- Increase adoption of digital channels and straight-through processing to improve efficiency.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with related departments to achieve Group objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk when required.
- Offer valuable inputs to the Group cash management and trade services product development team based on market research and customer feedback.
- Provide ongoing support to existing customers of cash management and trade finance services, ensuring consistent client follow-ups.
- Prepare and deliver country sales/marketing plans, roadshows, and customer workshops to promote product awareness.
- Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), assessing customer needs, recommending effective approaches, and pricing structures, coordinating with GTB Sales, Product and Services, and Implementation teams.
- Support Relationship Managers in their selling efforts by providing expertise and structuring know-how.
- Prepare and deliver periodic and ad hoc MIS reports on personal and unit performance.
- Perform any other tasks and projects assigned by the direct manager pertaining to Corporate and Institutional Banking and QNB Group activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- University graduate with a major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology. A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant banking experience, preferably with at least 2 years at a highly rated international bank.
- Sound Cash Management experience, typically acquired through 2-3 years in Cash Management and/or a related field.
- International corporate banking experience is preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Solid technical knowledge of bank operations, transaction cycles, payments/collection processing, bank account information, and SWIFT transmissions related to corporate and retail bank accounts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including report writing.
- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to corporate banking products and services, and the banking industry in general.
- Good understanding of the in-country GTB customer base, its needs, and expectations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

- Staying abreast of the latest technical, financial, industry, and market developments affecting job responsibilities and the bank's business.
- Compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Effective performance of the role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report risks.
- Ensuring systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Supporting the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting, and remediation in line with Operational Risk Management requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate knowledge and completing all mandatory training to ensure full qualification and competence.
- Upholding high standards of data protection and confidentiality for commercially sensitive information, providing it on a need-to-know basis.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information.
- Adhering to high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and strengthen its market leadership position.
