About Mace and the Opportunity

Mace is a global consultancy and construction company that integrates construction expertise with consultancy services to deliver complex projects. We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the largest mixed-use development programs in Saudi Arabia, encompassing sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. This role is open to Saudi nationals willing to be based in Riyadh.

The Role of Risk Manager

The Risk Manager will be instrumental in implementing and continuously improving risk management frameworks across a major program. This position involves collaborating with project teams to embed robust risk controls, ensuring compliance with governance requirements, and promoting industry best practices. The successful candidate will drive timely mitigation and continuous improvement in risk exposure, aligning with organizational values and promoting safety-first principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safety-first values, confidently applying stop-work authority and promoting wellbeing standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with organizational values, including mentoring and coaching junior staff.
  • Implement and continuously improve risk frameworks, registers, dashboards, and reporting processes.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate risk controls into plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor changes to risk exposure and the effectiveness of controls, driving timely mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Support risk reviews, workshops, audits, and assurance activities to promote compliance with governance requirements and industry best practice.
  • Partner with project teams to embed risk management into project planning, delivery, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure high-quality risk data, compliance with best practices, and proactive monitoring of changing risk profiles.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant degree or diploma in risk management, engineering, or project management.
  • Progressing toward chartership with a recognized professional body and ongoing professional development.
  • Strong risk leadership experience on major projects, ideally within KSA or the Middle East.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk tools, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-value projects/programs for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.

Project Context and Location

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working on a significant mixed-use development program. The project includes major sports, entertainment, and arts facilities, along with extensive associated infrastructure. The role requires a Saudi national willing to be based in Riyadh.
