About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a dedicated Roads Inspector to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves overseeing all phases of road construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to approved drawings, specifications, material standards, and safety protocols. The role is critical in maintaining the quality and integrity of infrastructure development within the region.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of the Roads Inspector is to provide comprehensive monitoring and inspection of road and bridge construction activities. This includes verifying that all work is performed in accordance with established engineering standards and project requirements, thereby contributing to the successful and safe delivery of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect various road construction works, including excavation, grading, subgrade, granular sub-base (GSB), sub-base, basecourse, and asphalt layers.
• Verify compliance with specified material requirements and review test results for soil, aggregates, and asphalt.
• Conduct inspections of drainage systems, kerbs, duct banks, utility crossings, and manholes.
• Monitor traffic management setups and detours to ensure the safety of road users and site personnel.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
• Participate in joint inspections alongside contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Ensure the proper implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and adherence to Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.
• Verify the quality of workmanship and safety standards within active road construction zones.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in roads and bridges construction. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role is required, demonstrating a proven ability to monitor and inspect complex road construction projects effectively.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on-site to conduct inspections and monitor construction progress directly.
