About the Role

alfanar is seeking a Section Manager, Material Planning to lead material planning activities within their operations in Riyadh. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet production schedules and customer requirements. The role involves coordinating closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, enhance planning accuracy, and support cost-effective supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities in Material Planning

• Implement material planning processes in alignment with departmental strategies and operational requirements.
• Review material requirements based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and current inventory status.
• Ensure the timely issuance of material requisitions to procurement for ordering.
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and consumables to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
• Recommend adjustments to inventory policies based on consumption patterns and lead times.
• Liaise with procurement to ensure timely supplier deliveries in line with production needs.
• Work closely with production planners to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
• Collaborate with sales, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.

Performance Monitoring and Risk Management

• Track section-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to material availability, stock accuracy, and order fulfillment.
• Prepare and submit regular material planning status reports to higher management.
• Identify gaps in planning accuracy and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify risks related to material shortages, supplier delays, or forecast inaccuracies.
• Propose mitigation strategies such as safety stock adjustments or alternative sourcing.

Leadership and Team Development

• Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers, fostering a robust second line of management.
• Address low performance by guiding improvement or managing transitions, ensuring fair treatment of subordinates based on performance.
• Take full responsibility for operations, anticipating problems, and making timely, proactive decisions.
• Ensure the availability of a delegation of authority matrix as per company policy.

Business Planning and Operational Improvement

• Deliver required results in a timely manner, meeting quality and cost objectives.
• Transform corporate goals into actionable business plans, monitoring performance, and initiating corrective actions.
• Monitor and control budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure according to current and future requirements, ensuring job descriptions are available and deployed for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities and promoting the full use of automated systems.
• Adapt to new and alternative techniques, technologies, management structures, and business models.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment in accordance with standard regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in material planning or a related supply chain function.
