Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Norconsult Telematics is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on owning deployment automation, ensuring production reliability, and optimizing infrastructure performance for Bonya/Linkara and related enterprise platforms. The Senior DevOps Engineer will implement and operate secure, recoverable services while actively working to improve availability, response time, and release quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer RHEL/Linux servers and application runtimes, including troubleshooting CPU, memory, disk I/O, process limits, and application services.
• Build and operate Docker-based container deployments and implement the approved OpenShift migration, covering namespaces, routes, probes, resource controls, and failover.
• Develop Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Odoo/Python and React releases, incorporating tests, security scans, artifacts, promotion controls, and rollback validation.
• Architect and deploy high-availability infrastructure on OCI using Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions, with a focus on resilience and disaster recovery.
• Manage containerized environments with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, implementing GitOps for automated deployments across Dev, Test, Staging, and Production.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD, integrating canary deployments and zero-downtime strategies.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Sentry, Zabbix, or New Relic for proactive issue resolution.
• Configure and optimize databases and services such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and Nginx for performance, security, and scalability.
• Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including incident management, blameless postmortems, secrets management, and security integration.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to align infrastructure with application needs, particularly for Odoo (Python) and Camunda BPM platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, optimizing for scalability and performance in multi-cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure, VMware).
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant IT experience, including substantial hands-on ownership of production DevOps, Linux infrastructure, and enterprise application operations.
• Demonstrated delivery of reliable platforms and resolution of complex production incidents is essential.
• Strong RHEL/Linux administration and Nginx configuration skills, including systemd, networking, TLS, reverse proxying, load balancing, permissions, SELinux, and CPU, memory, and I/O diagnostics.
• Strong Docker and production OpenShift/Kubernetes experience, covering Dockerfiles, image registries, networking, volumes, deployment manifests, probes, resource limits, RBAC, and security context constraints. Ability to diagnose failed deployments, pod restarts, and unavailable services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, Git, build agents, artifacts, environment controls, and secure service connections.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting, Ansible automation, and working knowledge of Terraform.
• Strong PostgreSQL administration and SQL diagnostics, including pg_stat_activity, pg_stat_statements, locks, execution plans, connections, autovacuum, backups, WAL, and recovery. Understanding of the impact of connection pooling and configuration changes on Odoo transactions.
• Hands-on observability and profiling experience with ELK/Kibana, metrics and APM or distributed tracing, Python/Odoo profiling, and interpretation of call stacks.
• Experience running load tests with k6, JMeter, Locust, or equivalent, and correlating results across application, network, and storage layers.
• Practical knowledge of Odoo/Python hosting, workers, scheduled jobs, dependencies, sessions, and filestore behavior; React build pipelines; and HTTP/API troubleshooting.
• Strong shared-storage/NFS diagnostics and experience validating backup, restore, and failover procedures.
