About the Role

CAE is seeking a Senior Flight Simulator Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves establishing technical operations for Riyadh Air’s new training centre, offering exposure to modern simulators and systems. The position provides opportunities for professional growth and development within the technical function.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTD) and Other Training Devices, including maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demonstrations, and snag clearance.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs), Daily Readiness (DR), Recurrent QTG runs, Aircraft Database (ADB) updates, and IOS Lesson Plan (LP) updates according to established standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues, including AOGs and NAA-raised issues. Conduct hardware refurbishment and modifications, and identify recurring issues for permanent solutions.
• Monitor SimHub/Simissues for updates and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record, track, review, update, and monitor deficiencies and maintenance activities. Generate reports for TCOPS Management.
• May be assigned as Shift Lead, Team Lead, Device Caretaker, or Task Caretaker, managing all aspects of the assigned role autonomously and creating or updating procedures.
• Collaborate with FSTD Technical Specialists on testing and troubleshooting, and undertake special projects as required by the Training Center Operation.
• Mentor and provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to junior colleagues, supporting complex tasks and corrective maintenance.
• Comply with local and global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards and safe working procedures.
• Prioritize, plan, and coordinate maintenance tasks, review and update issues, generate reports for technical meetings, and ensure training devices are ready for NAA recurrent evaluations.
• Ensure all training devices meet CAE, Departmental, and Service Level Agreement KPIs, and that projects and DRs are addressed and closed in a timely manner.
• Participate in weekly technical meetings, NAA evaluations, internal/external audits, and SLA review meetings. Act as Deputy Manager or Group Leader Technical Operations in their absence.
• Assist in yearly performance evaluations, employee development plans, and provide technical workshops and OJT to FSTD Support Staff.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in flight simulator engineering or a related technical field. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
