About the Senior Manager Geotechnical Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Senior Manager Geotechnical (MAS) to lead all geotechnical and ground investigation activities across the Qiddiya Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the long-term stability of the Qiddiya Tuwaiq cliff and integrating geotechnical considerations into city-wide planning, design, and delivery. The role involves identifying and mitigating geotechnical risks comprehensively.

Strategic Geotechnical Leadership

The Senior Manager Geotechnical will be responsible for establishing and leading a city-wide geotechnical and ground investigation strategy that aligns with Qiddiya's master development plan. This includes overseeing all geotechnical investigations, ensuring data integrity, and integrating geotechnical data into Qiddiya's GIS and digital engineering systems for long-term asset management and traceability. The role requires close coordination with various internal and external stakeholders to embed geotechnical inputs into early design decisions and construction methodologies.

Key Responsibilities for Geotechnical and Ground Investigation

• Oversee procurement and management of city-wide geotechnical consultants and ground investigation contractors.
• Ensure compliance with international standards, local regulations, and best practices in ground engineering.
• Implement a geotechnical risk register to inform prioritization, scope development, and mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle.
• Support the development of geotechnical specifications, scopes of work, and contract documentation to ensure consistency and technical quality.

Cliff Stabilization Project Management

• Lead strategic planning and execution for the City-wide Cliff Stabilisation project, including developing a phased delivery strategy.
• Progress the project through Qiddiya's Stage Gate governance framework, developing all required deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams and district master developers to ensure seamless integration of cliff stabilization solutions.
• Develop and maintain a cost plan in collaboration with Qiddiya's cost planning team and external consultants.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards across all phases.
• Define and implement procurement strategies, acting as Scope Owner for all tender processes, including drafting RFPs and evaluating tenders.
• Lead the management of technical and design consultants, overseeing deliverables for compliance with time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Ensure deliverables are integrated with GIS systems for comprehensive geotechnical database management.

Candidate Profile and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience in a relevant field. This role requires strong expertise in project management, geotechnical engineering, procurement, design management, and stakeholder coordination. The Senior Manager Geotechnical will work across master planning, design, and delivery teams, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya's broader development objectives.
