About Sapphire

Sapphire is a joint venture based in the Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company focuses on manufacturing advanced industrial robots and supporting the next generation of automation and smart manufacturing within the Kingdom.

Role Overview

Sapphire is seeking a Senior Manager Information Technology to lead the development, execution, and maintenance of the full spectrum of IT infrastructure, services, and systems. This full-time role is critical during the company’s transition from construction to operational phases, requiring the establishment of core IT functions. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with strong technical acumen and proven project management capabilities, supporting a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Core IT Responsibilities

  • Plan, procure, and install IT hardware and software, including laptops, accessories, projectors, and conferencing tools.
  • Manage Microsoft Office license deployment and renewal for all company employees.
  • Oversee network infrastructure, internet service provisioning, and site connectivity in coordination with SILZ and telecom providers.
  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, firewalls, and IT security controls systems.
  • Lead the end-to-end deployment of the company’s ERP system, ensuring integration across finance, HR, procurement, production, and maintenance.
  • Manage post-go-live support, enhancements, and user adoption initiatives for ERP and other systems.
  • Drive automation and optimization of business processes through effective IT systems.
  • Deliver or coordinate user training on systems and platforms to ensure proper usage and productivity.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical IT issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the company’s website, ensuring alignment with branding and information management strategies.

Strategic Management and Collaboration

  • Participate in and lead the definition and implementation of IT strategy, with guidance from the IT Department Director, ensuring alignment with Sapphire’s operational and business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure all IT infrastructure requirements are met for office and factory environments.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify, procure, and maintain IT and network systems related to production lines and automation technologies.

Governance, Security, and Vendor Management

  • Establish IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure security, availability, and business continuity.
  • Deploy and maintain IT security controls in alignment with applicable Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) to protect company assets and data.
  • Monitor IT performance through KPIs, issue reports, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Identify, engage, and manage IT vendors, service providers, and system integrators.
  • Participate in defining IT requirements, manage and maintain IT assets, and contribute to the development and management of annual IT budgets covering hardware, software, services, and licensing.
  • Manage all third-party IT contracts and ensure service delivery per SLAs.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 10 years of relevant experience in Information Technology management, ideally within a manufacturing or high-tech environment. The position requires demonstrated strategic leadership, strong technical acumen, and proven project management capabilities to oversee complex IT initiatives.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Sapphire's operational facilities in the Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ).
