The Role of a Senior Mechanic

The Senior Mechanic is responsible for executing comprehensive mechanical maintenance activities across the facility. This role ensures that all production equipment operates within optimal parameters, contributing directly to the continuity and efficiency of operations. The successful candidate will apply their expertise to both routine and emergency maintenance scenarios, upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency mechanical maintenance in strict adherence to approved policies and procedures.
• Monitor the performance of production units to ensure operation within designated limits, reporting any observations that could impact equipment efficiency.
• Identify necessary tools and equipment for maintenance tasks, assess their readiness, and conduct preventive maintenance to ensure continuous availability.
• Organize and store maintenance tools in their designated locations, maintain them properly, and ensure the correct disposal of maintenance waste.
• Execute mechanical repair work, including welding, cutting, and refurbishing replaced parts, to ensure their readiness and efficiency.
• Comply with all safety procedures prior to commencing work, including verifying required permits and lockout/tagout forms.
• Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates for the Senior Mechanic position should possess proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques is essential. The role requires proficiency in various mechanical repair tasks, including welding and cutting.
