Senior Road Engineer (Mega Civil Project)

About the Opportunity

IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture is seeking a Senior Road Engineer to join its Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is within the Infrastructure Division and focuses on a mega civil project, specifically within Civil Engineering and Transportation. The role requires specialized expertise in urban road, highway, bridge, and tunnel projects.

Role Overview

The Senior Road Engineer will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects of road works. This includes managing quality control, reviewing drawings, conducting value engineering, and overseeing technical construction methods. The role requires close coordination with other senior specialists, including those in structures, drainage, ITS, and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical control for all road works and coordinate with discipline specialists and quality control personnel.
• Resolve design issues or coordinate them with home office support as needed.
• Offer technical advice on proposed design changes.
• Oversee the Contractor’s technical submissions, including shop drawings, materials, and design proposals.
• Conduct final reviews of all relevant Contractor’s drawings, schedules, or material submittals to ensure compliance with project design concepts.
• Assess and report technically on any Value Engineering proposals.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the Road Engineering department and the Technical Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering and transportation projects, with a focus on roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical coordination, quality control, and design review.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
