About the Role

WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing structural design, analysis, and construction supervision for complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of built structures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with a proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector on roads and highways projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the structural design and analysis of transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels, viaducts, and retaining walls, adhering to client requirements, international standards, and industry best practices.
Conduct structural assessments, load calculations, and finite element analyses to evaluate structural performance, durability, and resilience under various loading conditions.
Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase, including regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
Implement rigorous quality assurance and control measures to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs and standards.
Identify opportunities for value engineering and innovation to optimize structural designs, enhance construction methodologies, and achieve cost savings without compromising structural integrity or performance.
Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to explore alternative design solutions and implement best practices in structural engineering.
Identify, assess, and mitigate structural risks associated with construction activities, material selection, and environmental factors, implementing proactive measures to ensure the safety and resilience of built structures.
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand their needs, concerns, and expectations related to structural engineering projects.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and technical presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering.
Proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
Experience specifically on roads and highways projects.
Strong understanding of international standards and industry best practices in structural engineering.
