About BAE Systems Saudi Arabia

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing essential equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia under Government-to-Government arrangements. The company is dedicated to maintaining Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and training RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in the safe use of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons. The Role: Senior Technical Services Manager

Based in Riyadh, the Senior Technical Services Manager is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the integration and continuous improvement of Technical Services. This critical role ensures strict compliance with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data requirements, and RSAF Instructions, while maintaining appropriate independence from Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical services delivered by H&AT across Cirrus SR22, Pilatus PC21, Hawk Mk65/A, and Hawk Mk165 platforms, including components, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and MetCal.
  • Oversee Materiel Deficiency Reports, airworthiness investigations, and emerging technical issues.
  • Establish, develop, review, amend (CAME ***, and manage all platform Aircraft Maintenance Programs (AMPs) (CAME **
  • Support the CAMO’s Reliability Programme, including investigations, reviewing proposed AMP amendments, and report analysis.
  • Manage platforms’ Airworthiness Directives (AD / TCTO / TI), including reviewing drafts and authorising their use (CAME **
  • Manage the provision of approved data and equipment for modifications, including proof/trial installations (CAME & **
  • Oversee each aircraft type’s Technical Log (CAME *** and the Cirrus SR22 Minimum Equipment List or equivalent (CAME ****
  • Report all significant occurrences to Dir M&CA within 24 hours.
  • Manage aircraft Structural Inspections, Corrosion Control, Reliability, and Engine Health Monitoring (CAME ***, alongside aircraft Inspection Standards (CAME ****
  • Manage CA records for all O&AT platforms, including online and archived data, and O&AT platforms’ Technical Log.
  • Manage the provision of approved data, AMO Libraries, and associated display equipment to AMOs (CAME **
  • Oversee the review and implementation of any additional M&CA Directorate requirements.
  • Provide oversight of AMOs’ management of new defects not previously observed or detailed in approved data (CAME ***
  • Line manage Technical Services Executives, including competence assessment, professional and career development, provision of facilities/equipment, and support to H&AT and CAMO succession planning.
  • Actively develop Saudi National expertise in Technical Operations through coaching and mentoring, in line with H&AT Saudisation and Succession Plans.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach, and mentor personnel to support their professional and career development.
  • Deputise for the O&AT Head of Continuing Airworthiness during periods of absence, with a valid Letter of Delegation.
  • Instigate and manage regular ‘Lessons Learned’ reviews, applying outcomes to future forums.
  • Proactively manage own Personal Development Report (PDR) and Succession Development Plan (SDP).

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
  • Extensive experience in Technical Services within an aircraft maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness (CA) environment, including significant direct experience supporting and maintaining aircraft fleets.
  • Previous experience in a relevant management role.

Desirable Skills and Background

  • Chartered Engineer status with an appropriate professional institute such as the Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society, or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
  • Broad knowledge of the aerospace and defence industry.
  • Extensive experience with PT21, PtM, and Pt14 regulatory environments in both civil (FAA/EASA) and military contexts (UK-MAA, RSAF).
