The Role of Showroom Accountant

Soum is seeking a Showroom Accountant to manage financial operations for its cars business in Riyadh. This full-time role involves handling cash and bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, supplier ledgers, VAT compliance, and month-end closing procedures. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of relevant experience and be proficient in both Arabic and English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all cash and bank activities for the cars business, including issuing and controlling receipts.
  • Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations, escalating and resolving discrepancies on the same day.
  • Report daily incomes and expenses, ensuring full reconciliation with bank statements.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory ledgers, recording daily movement against sales.
  • Conduct periodic and surprise stock counts, investigating and clearing variances.
  • Maintain inventory aging analysis and identify slow-moving or at-risk units.
  • Obtain formal sign-off on month-end closing inventory from the Operations team.
  • Record each cost center and business stream separately and accurately.
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment for every transaction and support filings with traceable records.
  • Manage key supplier ledgers, prepare statements, and secure sign-offs from the Supply team and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory & Pricing Analyst to reconcile inventory value, price updates, and P&L.
  • Track marketing expenditure against approvals and budget.
  • Respond to ad hoc finance requests from the CFO and board.
  • Manage the Finance Analyst for reporting and dashboard maintenance.
  • Improve efficiency by reducing manual reporting through automation and tools.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Cars and Finance teams for all financial matters.
  • Ensure alignment between teams through clear, documented, and timely communication.
  • Identify and drive automation and system improvements for manual or duplicated workflow steps.
  • Standardize and document processes to maintain controls amidst volume growth and staff changes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in finance, with hands-on experience in cash and bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, supplier reconciliations, and month-end closing.
  • ACCA/Part-Qualified CA or equivalent certification.
  • Strong understanding of VAT, cost center accounting, revenue and cost cut-offs, and financial record management.
  • Experience in improving finance processes through automation, system enhancements, or reducing manual workflows.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English.
