About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Subcontract Administrator / QS for the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia. This contract position requires 5-10 years of experience and will support various civil, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation packages. The role involves functional reporting to the Projects Contracts Manager and collaboration with field engineering and project controls teams.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh, and about 26 km south of Al Mouwayh. The project encompasses three open-pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages. The role may involve work in cities such as Taif, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

Key Responsibilities

The Subcontract Administrator will manage duties across pre-contract, post-contract, and project close-out phases:

Pre-Contract Duties: Prepare comprehensive and accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) to standardize bidding for contractors. Assist with financial evaluations to recommend the most suitable contractor and support negotiations on terms, conditions, and pricing to protect client interests.
Post-Contract Duties: Assess and verify the value of completed on-site work for interim progress payments. Price and evaluate the financial impact of variations, including changes, additions, or omissions to the original project scope. Assess financial claims submitted by the Contractor.
Project Close-Out: Reconcile all project costs, variations, and claims to finalize financial settlements with the client or contractor.

Qualifications and Experience

5-10 years of experience in a relevant role.
Proven experience working effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to interact and manage situations involving disputing parties.
Comfortable in a diverse and inclusive working environment where teamwork, collaboration, communication, and knowledge transfer are essential.
