About the Internship

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is offering a Summer Trainee Technical Scientific Office & External Affairs internship located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is designed to provide undergraduate students with practical exposure to a professional healthcare and pharmaceutical environment. The trainee will support the Technical Scientific Office and External Affairs functions through administrative, operational, and coordination activities, contributing to scientific support, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to the Technical Scientific Office and External Affairs teams.
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, meeting materials, and internal documentation.
• Maintain trackers, records, timelines, and project files to support follow-up and execution.
• Support the organization of internal meetings, including preparation of agendas, meeting minutes, and action tracking.
• Assist with coordination of stakeholder-related activities, meetings, and event logistics, as required.
• Conduct basic research and information gathering on topics relevant to healthcare, scientific affairs, public affairs, and business priorities.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed in accordance with company policies, compliance standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Work Arrangement

This is a Hybrid-Eligible role, offering flexibility in the work setup. Candidates can choose to be designated as:

• Hybrid: Work remotely for up to two days per week.
• On-Site: Work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.

The Flex status for this position is subject to Vertex’s Policy on Flex @ Vertex Program and may be changed at any time.
