Role Overview

RZPeople Solutions is seeking an experienced Technical Director for a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading the technical engineering, design coordination, and multidisciplinary technical activities for a major high-profile development project within the region.

Project Scope and Technical Leadership

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. This includes ensuring that all engineering deliverables, design coordination, BIM activities, technical submissions, shop drawings, and construction support are executed in strict accordance with project specifications, contractual requirements, applicable Saudi regulations, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all technical engineering and design coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage multidisciplinary coordination across Civil, Structural, Architectural, MEP, Infrastructure, and BIM disciplines.
• Review and oversee shop drawings, technical submissions, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate technical requirements between consultants, subcontractors, construction teams, client representatives, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure technical deliverables comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, Saudi Building Code (SBC), relevant international standards, and applicable regulations.
• Provide technical support to construction teams and resolve complex engineering, design, and constructability issues.
• Lead design coordination meetings, technical workshops, constructability reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
• Monitor engineering deliverables against project schedules and work closely with Planning and Project Management teams to achieve key milestones.
• Identify technical risks, design conflicts, and constructability challenges and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support procurement through technical evaluations, material compliance reviews, supplier submissions, and engineering assessments.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure technical and engineering deliverables meet project quality requirements.
• Support authority approvals and regulatory submissions throughout project execution.
• Lead BIM coordination and promote effective implementation of digital engineering processes.
• Maintain appropriate technical documentation, engineering registers, and revision controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering, BIM, technical coordination, and drafting teams.
• Prepare technical progress reports, management presentations, and engineering updates for senior management.
• Support value engineering and technical optimization to achieve practical, cost-effective, and constructible solutions.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates must be senior construction professionals with extensive experience, exceeding 10 years, in managing complex civil and infrastructure projects. Experience in delivering racecourses, equestrian developments, stadiums, sports venues, or other large-scale and technically complex developments will be highly advantageous.

The Technical Director will be responsible for rigorous technical oversight, ensuring all project aspects meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. A key function of this role is to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering, BIM, technical coordination, and drafting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
