Transmission Planning Engineer

About the Role

Saaki Argus and Averil Consulting is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional who will lead the engineering, design, planning, and execution functions for transmission lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall transmission line engineering, design, planning, and execution functions.
• Oversee the design and development of transmission lines across 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, 765kV, and higher voltage levels.
• Manage end-to-end transmission line projects, from feasibility studies and route surveys to commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical leadership for tower design, foundation engineering, conductor selection, stringing, and line configuration.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards, statutory regulations, and utility requirements.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, cost control, and project scheduling.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage client relationships, consultants, contractors, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.
• Identify technical and execution risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress, resolve critical technical issues, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Drive quality assurance, safety standards, and operational excellence across transmission line projects.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and project management teams.
• Support business development activities, including technical presentations, tender reviews, estimation, and proposal preparation.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, project delivery, and cost optimisation.

Required Experience

• Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission planning and related engineering fields.
