Virtualisation Operations Engineer

About the Role

Mina Excellence is seeking a Virtualisation Operations Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the daily operation and administration of the organization's virtualization environment, with an emphasis on VMware infrastructure. The position involves supporting VM provisioning, resource allocation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, and virtual machines on a daily basis.
• Provision, configure, modify, migrate, and decommission virtual machines.
• Manage the allocation of CPU, memory, storage, and network resources.
• Monitor virtualization infrastructure performance, capacity, and system health.
• Provide L2 support for virtualization-related incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot VM performance, connectivity, configuration, and resource issues.
• Investigate alerts and system events, taking appropriate corrective actions.
• Escalate complex technical issues to Senior Virtualisation Engineers or L3 teams.
• Support VMware patching, upgrades, maintenance, and migration activities.
• Execute approved changes in accordance with ITSM and change management procedures.
• Perform routine health checks and operational maintenance.
• Maintain accurate VM inventory, configuration records, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, backup, and network teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in virtualization operations. A strong understanding of VMware environments and related infrastructure components is required.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in VMware ESXi, vCenter, and virtual machine management.
• Experience with resource allocation and performance monitoring in virtualized environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization issues.
• Familiarity with ITSM and change management procedures.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working collaboratively with various technical teams, including infrastructure, storage, backup, and network teams, to ensure seamless virtualization operations.
