About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Technical Instructions Specialist to join their team in Taif. This full-time role is based within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) and focuses on managing Typhoon Technical Instructions to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the RSAF Typhoon fleet. The specialist will report directly to the Typhoon Fleet Manager.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all Typhoon Technical Instructions are current and properly managed, supporting the RSAF Typhoon fleet in accordance with RSAF Maintenance Policy and mandatory Continuing Airworthiness requirements. The specialist will provide proactive support and coordinated management of all related Technical Instructions, ensuring timely delivery to registered users and stakeholders to maintain the airworthiness of the Typhoon platform and its associated support equipment. The role also involves interfacing with the RSAF at various levels to enhance understanding of Typhoon Technical Instructions and assist in developing Saudi National expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point within the TSC for managing and distributing all Technical Instructions applicable to the RSAF Typhoon fleet, including Industry Airworthiness Instructions and RSAF National Instructions.
  • Act as the primary interface between the RSAF, TTSS, and Industry for managing in-service and industry queries related to issued Technical Instructions, including the nationalization of RSAF Technical Instructions.
  • Provide the primary interface to RSAF HQ for the approval and authorization of National Instruction changes.
  • Support TSC Fleet Management and maintenance personnel in prioritizing and planning the implementation of Instruction issues and updates.
  • Coordinate the development of RSAF Engineering Authority (EA) National Instructions with relevant TSC Specialists and maintenance personnel, covering technical validation, first-time compliance, and approval activities.
  • Liaise with the Technical Instructions Kit Set Controller to support the development and issuance of parts and materials required for embodying National Instructions according to time compliance requirements.
  • Engage with maintenance personnel to gather feedback and address issues related to issued Instructions, coordinating feedback management with an understanding of the impact on both Publications and Instructions.
  • Develop and maintain RSAF Policies and Procedures relevant to the management and distribution of Typhoon Technical Instructions.
  • Ensure adherence to ITAR and Document Security Policy and Procedures when handling relevant Publications or Technical Instructions data.
  • Receive, store, and distribute all Typhoon Technical Instructions.
  • Maintain a database of all Technical Instructions for control, configuration, and data retrieval to support Performance Metrics and Status Reports.
  • Assist in analyzing technical specialist reports and data from In-Service Data Analysis (ISDA) to identify problem trends and areas for Technical Instruction improvements.
  • Support local review meetings for Technical Instruction matters to resolve or escalate day-to-day issues.
  • Attend formal review meetings concerning Technical Instruction matters as directed by the Fleet Manager.
  • Support improvements in TP&I Process, Work Instruction, and Logbook.
  • Provide structured On-the-Job training for Instruction Instructions staff through training, coaching, work experience, and mentoring.
  • Log and record all role-related tasks and actions in accordance with local procedures or as directed by the Typhoon Fleet Manager.
  • Review and recommend process improvements based on Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and presentations as required by senior RSAF and BAES management regarding Technical Instruction activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
    • HND level qualification (or equivalent) in an Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering discipline.
    • Significant experience within an aircraft maintenance and management support organization.
    • Understanding of Technical Instructions principles and practices, including RSAF requirements for continuing airworthiness management.
    • Experience in using Technical Instruction Management Systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and support of modern combat aircraft systems, their relevant maintenance management systems, and airworthiness processes.
    • Familiarity with RSAF or other MAA/CAA Technical Instructions management requirements.
    • Familiarity with the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS) and trilogiView IETP or similar.
    • Familiarity with the Teamcenter application or a similar Information Storage and Retrieval system.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role or field.
