Application Engineer I

About the Role

Honeywell (KSA) is seeking an Application Engineer I to join its team in Dhahran or Dammam. This full-time position is open to Saudi Nationals only. The role involves working within a project environment, from the study phase through design, implementation, documentation, delivery, and maintenance of Digital Integration solutions, primarily across the Middle East Region. The Application Engineer I will report directly to the Engineering Manager for Digital Integration.

Role Context and Focus

This position focuses on optimizing project productivity and quality through standardization. The incumbent will support sales activities, including presentations, demonstrations, and participation in Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives. Digital Integration solutions encompass various skills such as Asset Performance Management (APM), UI/UX, equipment maintenance, and data science techniques. The role requires applying software technologies to deliver APM, Operations Management, and other Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) solutions for the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Chemical, and minerals industries. Solutions may be deployed on-premise or in the Cloud. This is a direct staff position with a billability target of at least 90% to external customer projects, intercompany customer projects, and customer support services.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical discussions related to asset performance, digital integrations, and data-driven models.
• Collaborate with lead or senior engineers on project design and delivery.
• Independently deliver assigned work with minimal supervision.
• Conduct product demonstrations and proof of concepts.
• Support the development of conceptual, user requirement, functional, and detailed technical design specifications for digital integration applications.
• Establish design acceptance with customer stakeholders.
• Translate and communicate the impact of process and system changes on the bottom line, articulating benefits and value to customers.
• Ensure appropriate test scripts, test data, test logs, and defect logs are in place for quality delivery.
• Participate in and facilitate critical project activities, securing customer buy-in and acceptance.
• Support change management within customer organizations through business process diagrams, training, and best practice documentation.
• Share technical knowledge with project teams, supervisors, and other disciplines.
• Communicate technical issues to the internal team, escalating them early in the project lifecycle.
• Provide pre-sales support to proposal teams.
• Showcase and define Honeywell’s solutions to potential customers.

Work Environment and Travel

The position requires approximately 30% travel, primarily within Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East region.
