About the Role

Arabian Drilling Co. is seeking an Assistant Rig Superintendent to join our operations team in Dhahran. This full-time position is integral to supporting the Rig Superintendent and ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of assigned drilling rigs. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in drilling operations.

Role Overview and Contribution

The Assistant Rig Superintendent plays a vital role in the direct oversight of day-to-day rig operations. This includes supervising drilling activities to guarantee safety and efficiency across all tasks. Additionally, the role involves managing the rig site training and certification programs for all personnel. The Assistant Rig Superintendent is also expected to act as the Rig Superintendent when designated, assuming full responsibility for rig operations and leadership during those periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Rig Superintendent in all aspects of rig management and operational oversight.
• Directly oversee and optimize daily drilling activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficiency targets.
• Manage and implement rig site training and certification programs for all personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and quality assurance standards.
• Assume full leadership and operational responsibility as acting Rig Superintendent when required.
• Assist the Rig Superintendent with additional key accountabilities, particularly for offshore operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience, specifically 8 years, in overseeing and optimizing drilling operations.
• Strong understanding of wellbore mechanics, drilling practices, and well control principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve complex issues.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring others for professional development.

Location and Employment Type
