About the Mechanic (Talent Pool) Role

Arabian Drilling Co. is seeking a dedicated Mechanic (Talent Pool) to join our team in Dhahran. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of mechanical equipment on our drilling rigs. The role involves a focus on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to support continuous and efficient drilling operations.

Role Purpose and Reporting Structure

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the optimal functionality of all mechanical equipment on the rig. This includes performing preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, and ensuring all systems operate effectively to support drilling activities. The Mechanic reports directly to the assigned Chief Mechanics, providing essential support across all aspects of mechanical equipment, including maintenance, repairs, and installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on engine and auxiliary systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot air and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair drawworks and rotary systems.
• Oversee the mud system and solid control equipment.
• Handle lifeboat and ballast systems, particularly in offshore environments.
• Apply general mechanical maintenance skills across various equipment types.
• Ensure accurate safety documentation and reporting for mechanical operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working on a drilling rig.
• Demonstrated experience in performing preventative maintenance on diverse mechanical equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems effectively.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical principles and hydraulic systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, focusing on operations within drilling rigs. The role may involve assignments in offshore environments, requiring familiarity with specialized systems such as lifeboat and ballast systems. The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic drilling environment, where a commitment to safety and operational reliability is paramount.
