Faculty Positions in Industrial & Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran is inviting applications for multiple full-time faculty positions. We are seeking qualified candidates across all academic ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor.

Areas of Expertise

KFUPM seeks candidates with interests and expertise in Industrial Engineering and related areas, demonstrating a desire to promote and provide excellence in one of the following fields:

• Operations Research
• Production Systems/Supply Chain Management
• Quality Control/Statistics/Data Science
• Engineering Economics
• Industrial Information Systems
• Human Factors/Ergonomics

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the department's mission through teaching, research, and service. Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrating teaching experience in the above-mentioned areas.
• Contributing to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
• Conducting original research and demonstrating strong research potential, as evidenced through publications in reputed archival journals.
• Playing a lead role in research projects, leading to high-quality publications and research grant income.
• Fulfilling the teaching requirement of the department, including teaching courses and developing lab activities at the undergraduate level.
• Taking advantage of recent advancements in their area of study and incorporating those into the courses they teach.
• Initiating and maintaining research activities/projects with faculty members that result in peer-reviewed articles in high-impact professional journals.
• Participating in service by being active in the life of the department and university, including program development and other duties as needed.

Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following academic and professional requirements:

• An earned ** degree from a reputable university in the relevant field.
• Full-time bachelor’s and master’s degrees with very good academic grades.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Certificate equivalency is required if the certificate was obtained from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
