About the Training Specialist and Curriculum Instructor Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Training Specialist and Curriculum Instructor to join its team in Dhahran. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on delivering comprehensive training programs for the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Role Purpose and Program Management

The primary purpose of this role is to instruct RSAF personnel in relevant subject areas, conduct thorough assessments, and manage training programs effectively. The specialist will be instrumental in ensuring academic progress, maintaining discipline, and continuously enhancing courseware and instructional methodologies to meet RSAF standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Teach approved syllabi for courses including Training Specialist, Advanced Training Course, Introduction to RSAF Training Organization, Management Principles, Leadership Concepts, ISD Course Writer, and RSAF Curriculum Specialist.
• Conduct regular academic assessments and phase-end examinations to ensure training objectives are met.
• Promote independent learning and a military ethos within the training environment.
• Evaluate student discipline, provide counseling, and motivation on academic and discipline issues.
• Record student academic assessment results, lesson attendance, and discipline issues.
• Provide regular reports on student academic progress, attendance, and discipline, and report other relevant issues.
• Regularly review and recommend changes to courseware and assessment material.
• Develop courses related to training and management programs.
• Apply RSAF procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation for change requests.
• Integrate new training materials or equipment into relevant courses.
• Ensure all training equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Contribute to the preparation of timetables, scheduling, and allocation of instructors.
• Determine requirements, requisition, control, and account for tests and instructional materials.
• Ensure the availability of Specialty Training Standards and other training materials.
• Monitor trainee progress, provide counseling, and identify problem areas, recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in evaluating training effectiveness, presentation methods, and instructor ability.
• Utilize available resources and reporting procedures.
• Advise commanders and personnel in charge of all training programs.
• Develop and manage training programs to assist personnel in achieving proficiency in their assigned specialties.
• Plan and schedule work assignments, workloads, maintenance procedures, and development of knowledge and abilities for advancement.
• Prepare directives for the administration and control of training programs.
• Conduct periodic staff assistance visits to determine training program status and provide advice for improvement.
• Develop and implement organizational and functional charts to establish lines of authority and responsibilities.
• Coordinate with supply, operations, and other maintenance activities to improve procedures and resolve problems.

Qualifications and Formal Training

• Successful completion of a formal Instructional Techniques Course.
• Familiarity with RSAF instructional system development and completion of ISD Course Writer no. (20251).
• Completion of the mandatory Training Specialist Course no. (30050).
• Completion of the RSAF Curriculum Specialist Course no. (30194).

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Thorough understanding of RSAFMs 105-8, 105-36, 105-31, 105-28, 105-29, 105-30B, 105-32, 105-01, and other Operational training manuals and directives.
• Confident and effective communication skills with all levels of staff.
• Knowledge of the functions and responsibilities of various classification boards.
• Knowledge of management functions.
• Knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques, training techniques and methods of instruction, learning processes, and training evaluations.
• Familiarity with automated training systems, products, and training reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of Training Evaluation Programs (such as SAV, 90 and 180-day, and annual inspections/evaluations).
• Knowledge of training management, OJT policies, and procedures related to military personnel policies, procedures, and applicable training technology.
• Thorough knowledge of RSAF Instructions, Manuals, procedures, and directives.
• An understanding of the SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) process.
• Computer literate, with a fully conversant working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to maintain the status of unit OJT programs.
• Experience in developing and updating tests.
• Capability to advise and assist supervisors in developing and using master and individual Job Performance Guides (JPGs).
• Proficiency in designing and supervising all curriculum activities.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining control and security on all curriculum records, documents, files, and related materials.
• Aptitude for determining prerequisite equipment and aids that will enhance instructional objectives.
• Ability to determine appropriate instructional methods that serve for learning objectives.
