Flight Test Support Engineer

About the Role

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Flight Test Support Engineer to join their team in Al Qatif. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves operating in a dynamic environment, focusing on quality, safety, and customer transparency in flight test operations. The successful candidate will be a key member of a core team responsible for critical activities within Flight Test Operations, serving as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between the Production/Quality team, Engineering, and Flight Test.
• Represent the Flight Test team in technical review meetings with MAP, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams.
• Follow up on technical and quality problems, including QSRs, in-service events, and recurrent issues, in coordination with the SA Aircraft Technical group.
• Ensure information flow between the SA Aircraft technical group and the Production flight test team in Mobile.
• Arrange ID cards for all A220 production aircraft, collaborating closely with FTEs.
• Build and maintain a database of technical information to support A220 ground and flight activities.
• Ensure technical aircraft follow-up, including Flight Test Request screening, proper aircraft configuration checks, and technical assistance for anomaly follow-up and resolution.
• Confirm that FTEs have the necessary tools to conduct ground and flight activities.
• Manage all logistics required for the preparation and follow-up of aspects essential for efficient production ground and flight test activities.
• Ensure appropriate distribution of technical information about new features or standards within the Flight Test team.
• Relay recurrent or operational issues to Development Flight/Ground Test and associated Design Office/Customer Service for maturity improvement.
• Perform various supporting tasks to ensure group operations, such as participating in software updates and contributing to continuous improvement of working methods.

Work Environment

Engineers at the Airbus * Manufacturing facility are involved in all aspects of aircraft assembly, from managing technical information and quality control to maintenance tasks and health & safety. The Airbus * Manufacturing Facility, located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. This facility supports the * aerospace industry and contributes to Airbus' global competitiveness.

• Squatting/Kneeling: Occasional squatting or kneeling to retrieve items.
• Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Travel: Ability to travel overseas and domestically, sometimes for extended periods, and work in changing locations outside hangars.
• Walking: Ability to walk through office and production areas, around flight lines and airstrips, including uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
